Professor's Rao research has focused primarily on the issue of cross-cultural conflict and its resolution in joint venture negotiations and multinational management. Her articles have been published in leading journals such as Journal of International Business Studies, Human Relations, Leadership Quarterly, and Advances in International and Comparative Management. She teaches business courses on the dynamics of managing conflict and negotiations, cross-cultural and international human resource management, and managerial effectiveness. She has previously taught at McGill University in Canada and Rutgers University (New Jersey).
