Welcome to the Department of
Management!

Management is one of the four departments in the College of Business and Economics at our university. The department is staffed by 23 full-time faculty. The faculty belong to one or more of the following interest groups: Strategic Management & International Business, Human Resources Management, Information Technology Management, and Operations & Supply Chain Management .

Our well-qualified faculty hold Ph.D.s from leading institutions across the country, including such top-tier schools as Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University and University of California-Berkeley.  In keeping with the mission of our university, their primary duty is teaching.  They maintain strong currency in their respective fields through an active program of applied and basic research.

The department is responsible for the following options in the business curriculum:

   Undergraduate Program: (i) Corporate Management (ii) Human Resources Management (iii) Operations and Enterprise Resource Management (iv) Supply Chain Management and (v) Information Technology Management.

   Graduate Programs: (i) E-Business (ii) Human Resources Management (iii) International Business (iv) Management Sciences (v) Operations and Materials Management (vi) Strategic Management (vii) Supply Chain Management (viii) Information Technology Management.

Career opportunities for students specializing in these options depends on the nature of these options themselves. For example, students specializing in Human Resources typically find themselves in jobs in the HR department of a company. On the other hand, information technology management graduates find career opportunities in either IT firms or IT management jobs within other institutions. Past and present employers of these students include almost every major firm in the Bay Area. Students are provided help in finding career opportunities by the Career Development Center at CSUEB.
