Departments in the College of Business and Economics are compiling a pool of applicants for possible temporary teaching positions for one or more quarters of the 2007-2008 academic year (Summer 2007 through Spring 2008). Applications will be kept on file Summer Quarter, 2007, through Spring Quarter, 2008, or until hiring for the Spring Quarter is complete. Openings will be filled from the pool of applicants before the start of each quarter. Teaching assignments at CSU East Bay may include courses at both the Hayward and Contra Costa campuses. Employment is contingent upon course enrollment and budget. For additional information, direct your inquiry to the Department Chair. Please refer to the position number in your letter or e-mail. Teaching responsibilities will be in the introductory and/or advanced undergraduate courses. Candidate should be proficient in financial and/or managerial-cost, an/or tax accounting. Teaching effectiveness is important. Research capability/publications considered an advantage. Candidate must have a master's degree in accounting or related area. Accounting and teaching experience preferred.
 
FINANCE

Part-time employment teaching one or more introductory and/or advanced undergraduate sections in Finance with specialty in Financial Theory and Management, Corporate Finance, New Venture Finance, and Institutional Finance including Bank Management, and Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management5. Candidates should have professional background and/or teaching experience in one or more of these areas and a relevant Master's degree or higher. Teaching experience and research publications and activity in these areas is a plus.

 

Teaching effectiveness is important. Research capability/publications considered an advantage.

The need for teaching more specialized courses sometimes arises.  Masters degree or ABD is required. Ph.D. is preferred.  Evidence of past excellence in teaching is required and a record of scholarly publications is highly desirable.
