A Special Note for Engineering Majors
Engineering students may find the Economics Minor to be a valuable addition to
their course of study at CSUH. The Engineering Major requires the following
courses that may be used simultaneously for the Economics Minor:
Econ 2301 - Principles of Microeconomics
Math 1304, Math 1305, or Math 2304 (one only)
Stat 3502 or Stat 3503 (one only)
Engr 3140 - Engineering Economics
Engineering students need the following additional courses for the Economics
Minor:
Econ 2302 - Principles of Macroeconomic Theory
Econ 3000 - Micro-Economic Theory
OR
Econ 3551 - Managerial Economics and Business Strategy

A Special Note to Business Majors
The Minor in Economics is especially appealing to Business Majors because:

Business majors can earn a Minor in Economics by taking three more classes
(only two more if your option is Finance or Real Estate Management)

of the additional courses may be taken CR/NC
Many Business Majors look for something that will make their degree stand out
from the crowd. A Minor in Economics can add additional status to their
business degree and is relatively easy to get. The following courses required
for the Business Major can be used toward the Minor in Economics:
Math 1810, Math 1820 - Mathematics for Business and Social Sciences II (only
one)
Econ 2301 - Principles of Microeconomics
Econ 2302 - Principles of Macroeconomics
Stat 2010 - Elements of Statistics for Business and Economics
Econ 3005 - Macro-Economic Theory
Econ 3551 - Managerial Economics and Business Strategy
Business Majors will have already taken the above courses for their major. A
Minor in Economics Minor only requires these additional classes:

(Note: Econ 3310 (Money, Banking, and Financial Intermediaries) may be used as

Management Option).
